This article became outdated and is just stored for archive purposes in this wiki. There are several reasons why an article could become outdated. The development team may have decided to use a different concept or even the author itself felt that the article is not really up-to-date with the current development status of the project anymore.

Introduction

This article covers all aspects of backing up data that the FIFE project works with and relies on.

Website

The website (the filesystem of it) and the whole developers FTP get manually backed up about once in 2 months. This does not involve the data that is stored in the MySQL database.

MySQL database

The MySQL database that contains the information of our website's CMS and this very Mediawiki gets automatically backed up daily. FIFE developer User:Phoku did set up a cronjob for it that runs on his home server. The backups are stored in a folder that is not accessable with a normal web browser. You will need access to the FTP root to download the backups. User:mvBarracuda downloads the backups once a week and deletes them from the server after he has saved them locally on his PC.
